About Uniswap
Uniswap is the world's largest decentralised exchange (DEX) by volume, built on Ethereum and created by Hayden Adams in 2018. Instead of a traditional order book, it uses an automated market maker (AMM) model where liquidity providers deposit token pairs into pools and traders swap against those pools at prices set by a mathematical formula. UNI is the governance token that gives holders the right to vote on protocol upgrades, fee changes, and treasury allocations. Uniswap v3 introduced 'concentrated liquidity', allowing providers to allocate capital within custom price ranges for dramatically higher capital efficiency than earlier versions.
